Kayaball GPS, iPhone, Blackberry mount for boats, canoes and small watercraft

Mounted atop the Kayaball, your handheld GPS, iPhone, Blackberry — or any of thousands of devices supported by RAM Mounts, can accompany all of your boating, sailing and rowing adventures — from lake to harbor.

The Kayaball represents a streamlined integration of our patented Kayalu mast technology with the universal standard RAM Mounts "ball" mount, making your boat instantly compatible with an entire catalog of RAM accessory mounts and gear.

No suction cups. No major alterations to your deck. And best of all, the Kayaball mast serves as an extremely portable monopod, detaching and re-attaching to any small eyelet on any surface, in seconds.

On boats under power or sail, canoes, sculls and dinghies, the Kayaball is recommended for mounting devices of up to 9 ounces (257 g). On kayaks or surfaces routinely subject to rocking, jarring impact or sudden pitching, the Kayaball is recommended to host devices of up to 7 ounces (199 g).

For rugged reliability, RAM Mounts is the clear choice.

To produce the toughest, most versatile equipment mount available, we've partnered with RAM Mounting Systems Inc., the premiere manufacturer of mounts deployed for use in harsh outdoor environments and challenging applications.

The Kayaball's spherical head, manufactured by RAM Mounts, can be integrated with virtually thousands of marine grade holsters, waterproof boxes and attachments customized for your electronic gear.

The Kayaball includes RAM's wedge-mounted 1" ball, constructed of high-strength composite polymers. The wedge can be inserted and tightened or removed from the Kayaball's mast.

The RAM Mounts ball-and-socket mounting system offers more positioning flexibility and ease of use than any competitive product available today. And with the RAM Mounts' ball atop the Kayaball, you can quickly switch from one device to another using the same mast. It's truly "universal!"

Toss out the clunkers, the rigid brackets, and suction cups.

You should never find yourself offshore with an equipment mount that could easily break, detach on impact. If you invested in a buoyant GPS unit, MP3 player or phone designed for aquatic recreation, why risk having it dragged it to the depths by its mount if dropped overboard? Such factors must be considered when attaching valuable accessories to your watercraft.

The Kayaball stands alone — stable and strong, yet flexible enough to ride the pitch and roll of a boat in rough seas — it's even capable of recovering from a sudden, jarring impact.

Once the Kayaball's steel clip is attached to your vessel, it will remain attached even when its shock cord is loosened, further protecting your valuable equipment from accidental loss.

And the Kayaball was designed to address risks and challenges associated with every other portable and semi-permanent device mount available.

Issues inherent in the design of competitive device mounts include:

  • the inability of suction cups to adhere to rough, scratched or compromised surfaces
  • poorly engineered mounting brackets requiring multiple drill holes and points of attachment
  • the potential for interference or injury on rigid brackets and support structures
  • the deterioration of critical components such as suction cups, PVC tubing and seals with prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light in sunlight
  • the rapid oxidation and corrosion of components when exposed to salt in seawater and brackish water

The Kayaball rises to these challenges, and many more.

How does the Kayaball attach to my deck?  (view demo & video)

Our patented fastening system clips beneath the Kayaball's base to an existing eyelet or any deck loop, pad eye, topside drain plug or other fixed point of attachment.

Once clipped, the Kayaball's shock cord is pulled taut and cinched.

If you would like to install an eyelet on your boat or kayak, we offer a marine-grade Eyebolt Kit with do-it-yourself instructions.

A foam cushion under the Kayaball's base adapts to contours, while protecting the surface from scratches. What's more, the base absorbs the shock of unnecessary impacts.
