The Kayalu Toughbar® is a high-strength, stainless steel extension for all RAM Mount assemblies using RAM′s 1-inch "B" ball, including camera mounts, GPS mounts, iPhone and iPod mounts, marine mounts, fishfinder mounts, binocular mounts, automotive mounts — virtually any mount that uses RAM's popular 1-inch "B" size ball-and-socket system.

As shown at left, the Toughbar is compatible with our Kayalu-accessorized RAM Locking Suction mounts available in our Online Catalog store. The Toughbar is also compatible with nclamp clamping mounts and ParkerMount® fixed base mounts.

The Toughbar is available in two sizes. Our Toughbar KLA-5006 adds a full 8" (20 cm) to your existing mount when fully extended ($29.95). And our Toughbar KLA-5007, shown in images at right and above left, adds 10" (25 cm) when fully extended ($34.95).

Multiple Toughbars can be connected to create a multi-jointed arm, tailor made for applications requiring a snaking extension with muscle to manage a heavy payload when locked into position. We manufacture the Toughbar using 100% original RAM Mounts components (two RAM marine-grade anodized aluminum 1-inch "B" balls and a RAM high-strength composite coupler). We assemble the Toughbar with the addition of our own stainless steel rod and UV-resistant PVC tubing.

The RAM Mounts high-strength composite socket arm not only extends the length of any existing RAM mount — it also adds an extra degree of freedom and versatility to the mount.

The Toughbar quickly integrates into your existing assembly mount, between any existing 1-inch RAM "B" ball and RAM socket arm.

Toughbar steel rods increase in durability with length. Our 8" Toughbar is manufactured of 18-8 stainless steel and the 10" rod has a weather resistant black oxide coating. The rods have a minimum tensile strength of 70,000 lbs., and a minimum Rockwell hardness of B70. These characteristics ensure that the rod can flex resiliently under the weight of your payload without breaking or buckling.

Simply put, the Toughbar is kick-ass tough.

At either end of its steel rod, the Toughbar has a RAM Mounts black powder coated marine-grade aluminum 1-inch "B" ball. The balls are screwed onto the rod and affixed using Loctite® Threadlocker to provide an extra measure of strength and reliability.

For cushioning and weather-proofing, the Toughbar's steel rod is encased inside resilient premium-grade UV-resistant PVC tubing.
