About the Radpole's Navigation Light
The Radpole Expedition Kit includes a bright white LED Tektite Mark III light.
With the Tektite light positioned vertically and raised clear of the physical obstruction, the Radpole meets U.S. Coast Guard and inland waterways regulations for visibility of a vessel under oar (i.e. kayak, canoe, dinghy, etc.).
At greater height, the Radpole increases your visibility for longer ranges across the arc of the horizon.
We've added a large SBR rubber baffle on the Tektite light to protect your own night vision, blocking rays from striking the bow or foredeck surface and refracting back into your eyes.
When you're paddling in dark territory, you can aim the light for use as a forward beam, or direct the light whenever needed to read a map or illuminate your deck. This is the same capability of our shorter NavBeam headlight product.
Unlike any other portable navigation light available, the Radpole allows its light to be directionally aimed; tilted and finely adjusted for proper alignment with the watersheet; swiveled down from its base to provide easy access to turn on and off as needed; swapped out for other accessories without requiring the paddler to stand or stretch; folded down alongside the kayak for portage; and quickly removed from its base for storage.
And the Radpole's Tektite Mark III light provides the durability and reliabiity of the best-selling dedicated portable, our Kayalite deck, anchor and stern light.
