The Kayalu Surfpole® rod adds a 14-inch (36 cm) extension length to an existing "C" size ball-and-socket assembly. At one end of the rod is a RAM Mounts 1.5-inch "C" ball, and at the opposite end of the rod is a coupler for clamping to any RAM Mounts 1.5-inch "C" ball.

All structural components of the Surfpole® are manufactured of marine-grade lightweight aluminum. All Surfpole fittings are manufactured of marine-grade stainless steel, aluminum and brass. Surfpole® arm handles are manufactured of marine-grade composite polymer. All components are resistant to harsh sunlight and UV radiation (no ABS plastic components). Saltwater and freshwater compatible.

Surfpole rod length is measured as the distance from the center of the ball to the center of the empty socket in the coupler. In this regard, the measurement is approximately the amount of extension when the rod is inserted into an existing assembly.
