How are GoPro® Hero cameras secured to Kayalu camera mounts?

All of our camera mounts provide a 1/4"-20 threaded stud as an option, compatible with any GoPro Hero Tripod Adaptor, or any other camera capable of mounting to the 1/4"-20 bolt on any standard tripod.


The GoPro Tripod Adaptor (available from GoPro as a factory standard accessory with Hero models or from other vendors) has a threaded hole that accepts the 1/4"-20 stud on our camera mounts.

Introducing RAM Mounts' GoPro Hero Adaptor Ball

For active paddlers and boaters, we offer a GoPro adaptor ball (below right) manufactured by RAM Mounts as a terrific alternative to the GoPro Hero tripod adaptor.



This adaptor (above right) directly couples your camera mount to the camera, eliminating the need for the factory GoPro tripod adaptor (above left) and our universal ball with 1/4"-20 threaded stud (above center), thereby eliminating the possibility that the Hero camera might inadvertantly unscrew from its camera mount while in active use.

The adaptor ball is constructed of fiberglass composite, more durable than the ABS plastic GoPro tripod adaptor.
