All in One Box: The Surfpole Expedition Kit

The Kayalu Surfpole™ Expedition Kit is a complete package including a Surfpole arm, camera ball mount, pan-tilt camera head, RAM Mounts adaptor and a submersible kayak navigation light for compliance with U.S. Coast Guard and inland regulations for kayak and vessels under oar at night and in conditions of limited visibility.

The Surfpole Expedition Kit includes:

Surfpole Expedition Kits are available in five arm lengths. To determine the best height for your particular application, we've put together some Surfpole height recommendations here.

The Expedition Kit includes an aluminum RAM Mounts base kit (shown at right at B) with an aluminum RAM Mounts 1.5-inch "C" ball.

The Expedition Kit includes all stainless steel hardware required for installation of the base including stainless steel bolts, washers and locknuts — even the drill bit matched for the stainless bolts, is included.

The Expedition Kit provides two ways to mount your camera and video equipment. The kit includes a Vanguard PH-20 pan-tilt camera head (shown at C) and a RAM Mounts camera ball with 1/4"-20 threads (shown at E). This smaller ball is perfect for your pocket digital camera, GoPro® Hero or other small camera. We add an EPDM rubber pad on the camera ball's threaded stud to protect your equipment from abrasion.

The Surfpole Expedition Kit includes a bright white LED Tektite Mark III light. The Mark III is waterproof and submersible to 100 feet below sea level, operating for 200 hours on one set of 3 AAA batteries (included).

The virtually indestructible Mark III is used in our best-selling Kayalite™ and NavBeam™ products. For coupling with the Surfpole, we've integrated the Mark III light with a high-strength composite adaptor ball. This ball allows the Tektite light to fit into the aluminum "C-to-B" adaptor arm (shown at D) also provided with the Expedition Kit.
