The Vanguard PH-20 Camera Head is a full-featured pan-tilt head with a standard 1/4"-20 tripod thread accepted by cameras, video gear and speedlights.
We've taken the Vanguard head and adapted it for use atop our "C" ball mounting systems including the Kayalu Surfpole. To do so, we mated the PH-20 head with a RAM Mounts 1.5-inch marine-grade aluminum "C" ball. The ball can be seated in any RAM Mounts arm accepting a "C" size ball.
In addition to pan-tilt and orientation control, the Vanguard PH-20 has a quick shoe that allows the camera to be quickly removed and snapped back into place with a single hand.
All structural components of the Vanguard PH-20 Camera Head are manufactured of lightweight aluminum. Other fittings and components are manufactured of steel, aluminum, brass and ABS plastic.
NOTE: We tested the Vanguard PH-20 over a number of months on Boston Harbor. This (and other) camera heads are not constructed for marine use, particularly saltwater. To protect the head, we used Boeshield anti-corrosion spray. For more information, visit the link provided below.
